Our hygienists are Swiss Dental Academy trainers practicing Guided Biofilm Therapy. Our team are trained to provide this modern minimally invasive technique for long term oral care with the highest level of comfort, safety and efficiency.
Dental biofilm is the main cause factor for caries, periodontal and peri-implant infections. Periodontitis can increase the risk of systemic diseases, such as cardiovascular and respiratory disease, arthritis or diabetes. Regular oral hygiene, combined with professional measures keeps this biofilm under control – for a better oral and systemic health.
The AIRFLOW® unit directs a fine spray of water and Erythitol powder onto the surface of the teeth. The powder removes staining, biofilm and young calculus in a minimally-invasive way from all types of surfaces: enamel, dentine, soft tissue, restorations, orthodontic appliances or implant surfaces. The Erythritol based molecule provides a unique indication, with a granule-metric size of only 14μm, the AIR-FLOW® PLUS powder represents the most finely grained particle in the world of dentistry. The benefit of this type of powder is a selective minimally-abrasive spray: the ability to efficiently remove Biofilm whilst leaving soft and hard tissues unharmed. Further, with its sweet taste and gentle spray the PLUS powder is perfect for all patients. All this combined ensures a truly comfortable and enjoyable experience, for patients and doctors alike. The best solution in professional tooth cleaning.
Guided Biofilm Therapy is a unique approach to dental prophylaxis. Treatment is specific for each individual but is based on the 8 step protocol.
1.Diagnose every clinical case: patients are screened for healthy teeth, caries, gingivitis, periodontitis, healthy implants, mucositis, peri-implantitis.
2.Disclose to make biofilm visible: Show patient disclosed biofilm. The color will guide the biofilm removal. Once biofilm is removed, calculus is easier to detect.
3.Motivate, raise awareness and teach: The emphasis is on prevention. Patients are instructed on oral hygiene and the importance of correct home oral hygiene techniques
4.Airflow removes biofilm, stains and young calculus from natural teeth, restorations and implants. Leaving the teeth clean and healthy.
5.Perioflow may be used to remove biofilm from deeper periodontal (gum) pockets and around implants
6.Piezon minimaly invasive scalers compete the cleaning process
7.Control. A final check that all biofilm is removed, Fluoride mouthwash may be prescribed for extra prevention as required.
8. Recall. A healthy patient equals a happy patient. A recall frequency is scheduled according to risk assessment.
